I Used to Love Her
by Tahir
I've loved/lived Hip Hop culture since I could understand words. Language. Its head-nodding rhythms. I'd like to get a couple of things off my mind regarding the entire Hip Hop scene.
I've come to understand why Hip Hop is needed--essential--in many peoples' lives. With modes of expression imparting everything from knowledge of mastering the streets, to "mastering thyself," artists like Public Enemy , X Clan , KRS-One and Poor Righteous Teachers have been the modern-day griots for today's youth.
Meanwhile, artists like Jay Z, NAS, EMINEM , Ja Rule and Nelly continue to work their own kinds of magic in the world of Hip Hop, continuing to educate the minds of our youth with a broad range of topics, from politics and business, to the beef on the streets. With all nationalities around the world loving this culture born in the South Bronx, Hip Hop's here to remind us, we all can speak our minds about how we live. Just ask some of the indie artists at MP3.com such as Up^South , LIVE-STOCK and Mic Lovin
